Occupying a restored lakeside residence just steps from the main hotel in Cernobbio, Miralago introduces eight private apartments arranged across four floors. Four one-bedroom residences of approximately 90 square metres sit alongside four larger two-bedroom apartments of around 100 square metres, with adjoining layouts allowing neighbouring residences to be combined into more expansive family accommodation. Rather than positioning itself as a separate development, Miralago functions as an extension of Villa d’Este itself, offering the privacy of an apartment without relinquishing the service for which the hotel has become renowned.
That balance between independence and hospitality defines the concept. Guests enjoy daily housekeeping, concierge services and the option of a private chef, alongside access to Villa d’Este’s floating swimming pool, Sporting Club, Beauty Center and historic botanical gardens. A ground-floor café overlooking the lake completes the experience, allowing residents to move seamlessly between private living and one of Europe’s most iconic hospitality destinations.
The interiors, designed by Paris-based Studio Droulers, draw inspiration from Lake Como’s modernist design heritage and the work of celebrated Italian architect and designer Ico Parisi. Natural materials, understated furnishings and textiles by nearby design house Dedar create spaces that feel unmistakably contemporary while remaining deeply connected to the region’s cultural identity. Rather than competing with the landscape, the apartments allow Lake Como itself to remain the focal point.
Miralago also reflects a broader evolution within luxury hospitality. Travellers increasingly want the space, flexibility and privacy of a residence while retaining the service standards, dining and amenities traditionally associated with the world’s finest hotels.
