Luura-Cliff has opened on Paros, a 39-suite, adults-only hideaway perched above the bay of Agia Irini on the island’s western coast, with uninterrupted views across to Antiparos. The opening marks two debuts at once. It is the first hotel from Luura, the brand founded by father-and-daughter team Elie and Sophie Khoury through the family’s Dubai-based company Vivium, and it brings Ennismore’s Morgans Originals collection into Greece for the first time.

Vivium itself is a relatively young venture. Elie Khouri founded the Dubai-based single-family office in 2017, after stepping down from his executive role at Omnicom Media Group MENA, building a portfolio across real estate, hospitality, design, ventures and collectibles. The family’s presence on Paros predates Luura by two years, tracing back to an initial boutique hotel acquisition on the island in 2023.

The architecture does the least shouting and the most work. Design studio Lambs and Lions has drawn on Cycladic form, whitewashed buildings, thick walls, softened edges, unfolding across the clifftop, with every suite opening onto a generous terrace and selected suites carrying private pools of their own.

Art gives the hotel weight beyond its 39 rooms. Curated with independent advisor Artemis Baltoyanni, the programme brings together works by Francesco Clemente, Claire Tabouret and Tschabalala Self, drawn in part from the Khoury family’s own collection, serious company for a property this size.

Dining runs through Mimi Kakushi, ranked among the region’s fifty best restaurants and bars, alongside La Cantine du Faubourg. The hotel sits fifteen minutes from Paros Airport, with the island’s capital, Parikia, the same distance away. Mimi Kakushi brings its own pedigree to the island. The restaurant originated in Dubai under the Rikas Group, built around a jazz-era reimagining of 1920s Osaka, and has since been recognised on the World’s 50 Best Bars list and by the Michelin Guide, with a second outpost inside Miami’s Delano hotel. Its arrival on Paros signals ambitions for the dining programme that extend well beyond a hotel restaurant serving hotel guests.

The opening extends a wider pattern in Aegean hospitality: family-office capital backing small-format, design-led hotels, then distributing them through an established international collection for reach without losing the intimacy that defines the brand. A second property, Luura Sand, follows on the island’s eastern side.

That intimacy surviving the move from a single 39-room debut to a growing portfolio is the open question behind Luura’s next steps, and the one that will decide whether this stays a family project or becomes something closer to a group. Visit Luura here.
