Welcome To This Week In Edition – May 25, 2026
Lake Como, Tokyo, Saint-Tropez, Comporta, and Courchevel define this week’s landscape, as luxury, mobility, hospitality, and performance continue evolving around a more intentional expression of modern wealth. Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este once again brings the automotive world to the shores of Lake Como, while Rosewood prepares for its Tokyo debut and Arc’teryx expands deeper into cultural and community-led retail with new trail hubs across the city. Across hospitality, One&Only reveals plans for Courchevel, COMO Le Beauvallon returns to Saint-Tropez, and Sublime Sand launches in Comporta — reinforcing the continued shift toward slower, more design-led luxury experiences. Elsewhere, VistaJet expands its fleet with the Bombardier Global 8000 as demand for ultra-long-range private mobility continues to rise, while Orion Yachts enters the market with its debut superyacht and Lamborghini unveils the Fenomeno Roadster. Across performance and collecting, Phillips sets a new global watch auction record, Audemars Piguet and Swatch reveal the Royal Pop, and Lotus signals a return to V8-powered engineering. As capital, culture, and luxury continue converging, the definition of modern wealth increasingly moves beyond ownership alone — toward access, mobility, experience, and cultural alignment.
Enjoy this week’s Edition!

These are this week’s top stories shaping culture, commerce, place, and modern wealth.
INSPIRE What shapes taste, culture, and direction

Arc’teryx launches new trail hubs across Tokyo
Arc’teryx continues to deepen its position at the intersection of performance, fashion, and contemporary outdoor culture with the launch of two new trail-running hubs in Tokyo. The first, Trail Hub Takao, opened at the foot of Mount Takao in Hachioji — one of the city’s most accessible trail-running destinations, reachable from central Tokyo in under an hour. Drawing inspiration from the Edo-period chaya, the roadside teahouses that once served travellers across Japan, the space reimagines outdoor retail as community infrastructure. Visitors can test trail footwear and running vests before purchase, collect hand-drawn route maps, join guided runs with local coaches, and reset with tea and wagashi before heading into the mountains. A second location, Trail Hub Yoyogi, opened inside Runtrip BASE in Yoyogi Park, bringing a more urban interpretation centred around breathwork and recovery sessions. Both are free to access. Increasingly, brands like Arc’teryx are moving beyond product and into lifestyle architecture — creating physical environments that position outdoor culture less as sport and more as a modern expression of wellness, identity, and urban luxury. INNOVATE What is being built, launched, and redefined

Orion Yachts debuts its first superyacht
Orion Yachts has launched Orion One, the debut superyacht from the Turkish builder’s new luxury division. At 43 metres, the vessel enters one of the market’s most competitive categories, though its defining feature is scale. A steel hull and aluminium superstructure push gross tonnage to 480 GT, giving the interiors proportions more commonly associated with significantly larger yachts. Designed by Red Yacht Design, the exterior combines a flared bow with cascading aft decks, while the interiors lean into light woods, restrained neutral tones, and aquamarine detailing. Accommodation includes a main-deck owner’s suite with a fold-down private balcony alongside five guest staterooms and space for nine crew. Elsewhere, the flybridge features a hot tub and outdoor dining area, reinforcing the industry’s continued shift toward experience-led design and residential-style comfort. Twin Caterpillar C32 engines deliver a range of 1,500 nautical miles, positioning the yacht comfortably for Mediterranean and longer-range cruising. Currently listed with Fraser Yachts for €22 million, Orion One reflects growing demand for highly personalised ownership experiences where design identity, flexibility, and lifestyle integration increasingly matter as much as performance itself. INVEST Where capital is moving — and why

VistaJet expands its fleet with the Bombardier Global 8000
Vista has taken delivery of its first Bombardier Global 8000, marking the beginning of a wider fleet upgrade programme that will see all 18 of its existing Global 7500 aircraft converted to 8000 specification by the end of the year. The aircraft’s arrival reflects continued momentum inside ultra-long-range private aviation, where affluent consumers increasingly prioritise time efficiency, flexibility, and seamless global mobility over traditional ownership structures. With an 8,000-nautical-mile range, the Global 8000 unlocks new non-stop city pairings including London to Singapore and expanded Gulf and Pacific routes previously beyond reach for the 7500. Top speed increases to Mach 0.95, making it the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde, while cabin altitude drops to 2,691 feet — a meaningful improvement on long-haul sectors where recovery time increasingly carries economic value. Vista’s subscription-based model continues to position availability and operational simplicity as the real luxury proposition, particularly for globally mobile members balancing multiple markets and time zones simultaneously. As wealth becomes increasingly international, private aviation is evolving from discretionary luxury into a core layer of modern infrastructure. Read the full story here or visit VistaJet here.

INDULGE How wealth is expressed and experienced

Sublime Sand launches in Comporta
Sublime Comporta has opened Sublime Sand, a major expansion that further positions Comporta as one of Europe’s most culturally relevant luxury destinations. Located along Portugal’s Atlantic-facing Alentejo coast, the region has increasingly become defined by a quieter form of wealth — centred around privacy, restraint, architecture, and proximity to nature rather than overt visibility. The new development adds 43 private pool villas across 50 hectares opposite the original Sublime Terracotta property, alongside a collection of new shared spaces designed to support longer stays and larger groups without compromising the intimacy that established the brand’s reputation. Three central buildings anchor the expansion: the Atrium, housing restaurants and lounge spaces; Aqua, focused on wellness and recovery; and a Forum event space designed around reflective pools and open-air gathering. Dining continues to play a central role in the broader Sublime ecosystem, with BeefBar making its Portuguese debut and Davvero expanding from Sublime Lisboa. Together, the additions reflect a wider shift inside luxury hospitality, where travellers increasingly value calmness, spatial design, and cultural discretion over traditional resort spectacle.
